The ANNUAL MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR THE CZECHOSLOVAK VICTIMS OF NAZISM has been canceled due to the developing situation with COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

The Memorial scheduled for March 15 has been canceled. We hope to reschedule this event for a later date.

The service will be led as in the years past by Rabbi Norman Patz. We are honored that Ladislava Begeç, Consul General of the Slovak Republic in New York and Karel Smekal, Vice-Consul General of the Czech Republic in New York, will be present at the Memorial.

In Memorial Program, Natasha Hirschhorn will sing from the children’s opera Brundibar which will be introduced by Zuzana Justman, who sang in Brundibar performances when interned in Terezin.

Natasha Hirschhorn is a professor at the Cantorial School of the Jewish Theological Seminary and Hebrew Union College, and also the Cantor and the Music Director of Congregation Ansche Chesed in Manhattan.

Zuzana Justman is a published author and an award-winning filmmaker. Following the Memorial there will be refreshments and an opportunity to meet friends and discuss future activities of the Society.
